At Alka, we believe that responsibility towards the environment and people is not just an option – it is an obligation. One of our strategic objectives is to protect and preserve the environment, through sustainable, ecological actions and through education, for responsible consumption.
Thus, we are actively involved in combating hunger and food waste, two of the most pressing challenges of the society in which we live.
Below we present the concrete actions that Alka has initiated:
- Constant donation of food products to food banks in Romania, in support of vulnerable people.
- 📦 Between January and May 2025, we donated over 7000 kg of products, directly contributing to reducing waste and supporting those in need. At the same time, by donating products we avoid the generation of waste and greenhouse gas emissions associated with their degradation.
- Educational partnerships with local organizations. We are convinced that prevention begins with education. Therefore, through educational workshops organized in partnership with NGOs, we contribute to the formation of a new generation that understands the real value of food, the impact of daily choices on the community, as well as the role of each one in protecting the planet.
- Optimization of internal processes, to reduce waste throughout the entire production and distribution chain. We carefully monitor flows and constantly invest in efficiency and sustainability.
